چکیده

Abstract Hydrogeological parameters are very uncertain to specify in the groundwater flow models. Hence, it is important a range for these be further utilized by model users. In El-Qaa Plain, previous researchers have determined hydrogeological such as transmissivity, hydraulic conductivity, and mean annual recharge rate using geophysical methods, pumping tests, hydrological models, However, they also limited specific locations do not spatially distribute. this paper, an effort has been accomplished aquifer inverse modeling taking into account spatial heterogeneity. These ranges could taken consideration during flow. finite-difference applied ModFLOW model. Regularized pilot points method (RPPM) chosen technique accurate values of parameters. Model-independent parameter estimation uncertainty analysis (PEST) estimate The results show that geometric conductivity study area from proximity 1 2 m/day. Additionally, transmissivity nearly 200 500 m /day. A relationship between determined. Besides, maps generated showing heterogeneity conductivity. modelers predict potential pollution future.

Hydrogeological investigations and numerical simulation of groundwater flow in the karstic aquifer of northwestern Yucatan, Mexico

A freshwater lens underlain by saltwater exists beneath the entire northern Yucatan karst plain, Mexico. Water levels recorded in this plain, during the period June 1987 April, 1989, were used to map the water table, identify inland hydrogeologic boundaries, and estimate the thickness of the freshwater lens using the Ghyben-Herzberg relation. The water table under most of northwestern Yucatan i...

Assessment of the renewable groundwater resources of Wadi El-Arish, Sinai, Egypt: modelling, remote sensing and GIS applications

Recharge of the alluvial aquifers flooring Wadi El-Arish in central and northern Sinai, Egypt was investigated. A hydrological model that combined the spatial and temporal distribution of rainfall, suitable infiltration parameters, and appropriate sub-basin unit hydrographs to estimate rainfall excess, transmission losses along stream networks, and downstream runoff was developed. The Wadi El-A...
